Dear past and present ISMMS membership,
The Executive Board of ISMMS is excited to announce that we are reopening membership to the organization. We have reorganized our membership process and we look forward to expanding our membership, working together to make the organization bigger and stronger than it was before.
We have created a new pay structure for those interested in joining ISMMS. If you are a fully waged academic your fee is £40, fully waged in the Global South is £25, and a students’ fee is £15. To subscribe go to www.metalstudies.org and check out our recently updated website.
We will be hosting the ISMMS General Meeting at this summer’s conference in Nantes. We look forward to sharing our plans for the future, including an exciting announcement about the location of the 2021 conference—a place where ISMMS has never been to before. Prior to the conference we will be putting out a call for those interested in becoming members of the ISMMS Executive Board, and we will hold elections for a new Secretary (Toni-Matti Karjalainen is stepping down after 4 years of service), and adding two new Ordinary members since the terms of Claudia Azevedo and Marco Ferrarese have recently ended. The elections will be held after the conference.
