Abstract |
José Ignacio López Ramírez Gastón (Barcelona, 1968). Es Doctor en Música por la University of California San Diego. En 2018, publicó (con Giuseppe Risica) el libro Espíritu del Metal: La Conformación de la Escena Metalera Peruana (1981-1992). En 2019, forma el Grupo Peruano de Estudios del Metal (GPEM) y con ellos organiza en 2020 Espíritu del Metal: primera exhibición de la historia del metal peruano en el Ministerio de Cultura. En 2021, publica “Sounds of Exclusion and Seclusion: Peruvian Metal as a Model for Cultural Self-segregation”, en el primer libro en inglés sobre metal en Latinoamérica, Heavy Metal Music in Latin America: Perspectives from the Distorted South.
REEHM motto: Espacio interdisciplinario integrado por diverses actores sociales, les cuales nos proponemos la reflexión y el intercambio acerca del Heavy Metal y su cultura, partiendo del diálogo realizado desde la base de la horizontalidad y la heterogeneidad. |

Abstract |
La participación del rock en el desarrollo de comunidades musicales en el Perú es un tema no explorado dentro del ámbito académico. En la construcción de los modelos nacionales y regionales de una musicalidad propia, las músicas populares urbanas de origen extranjero no han sido consideradas; tampoco lo han sido como elementos en la formación de una identidad regida por los parámetros del discurso del Estado-nación. En este trabajo, exploramos las confrontaciones y dicotomías que mantienen el tema del rock como ajeno y a las comunidades musicales del rock nacional, como lejanas. |
