Abstract: "A brief recall of the main characteristics of heavy metal allows us to postulate
the existence of three clearcut categories of concept-albums in this music
genre: anthology, geste, epic. Their analysis leads us to examine whether this
particular form is intended to unsettle, through intermedial translations, what
previously had a definite shape and legitimacy, or, on the contrary, to put
order in the chaos of an extreme music."
