ISMMS members—it is that time of year again! We are holding elections for the following
positions—President and 2 ordinary members. To stand for one of the positions you must submit
a 1-page statement of intent which will explain what you will bring to the role and a CV which is
no more than 5 pages long. Personal information and references are not required. You may not
apply for more than one position. You will send both to ISMMS secretary Rose Johnson at
secretary@metalstudies.org. Once all of the statements and CVs have been submitted members
will be able to view them via a log-in section on the ISMMS website where voting will also take
place.
We strongly encourage candidates representing marginalized and/or excluded communities,
including but not limited to people of color, women, LGBTQ+, disabled people, and those from
the Global South. We also ask that members consider sharing this announcement with individual
colleagues, and with relevant networks they’re aware of that may include individuals from these
communities. Students and Independent Scholars are welcome to stand if they are current
