New Executive Board Position – Webmaster

by | Feb 27, 2021 | Announcements

The International Society for Metal Music Studies (ISMMS), the only professional organization for metal music scholars, is pleased to announce we are looking to add a Webmaster to our Executive Board. The webmaster will manage, construct, and maintain the ISMMS website and its interface with the society’s other online profiles across social media.  This will include maintenance and updating of the Metal Studies Bibliographic Database along with managing membership subscriptions and access to the Metal Music Studies journal. The webmaster is responsible for all aspects of website hosting and database management so nominees must demonstrate appropriate technical expertise. The webmaster will also work closely with the Communications Officer.

The International Society for Metal Music Studies is organized solely for scientific, education, and charitable purposes. The purpose of ISMMS is to support and conduct non-partisan research, education, and informational activities  on metal music studies. The mission of ISMMS is to encourage and facilitate trans/interdisciplinary and international academic research regarding processes and phenomena related to metal music and its various subgenres, and to support the recognition of such research as a significant contribution to academic communities.

Those interested in applying for the position should send a recent CV/resume as well as a 300 word position statement which outlines the applicant’s relevant skills, experience, and qualifications to Dr. Owen Coggins by March 15, 2021. These will be shared with the membership of the ISMMS who will vote to elect a candidate to the Webmaster position on the Executive Board. ISMMS encourages women, LGBTQIA+ identified persons, and BIPOC individuals to apply. You must be a current member of the organization to stand for election. Join here: https://www.metalstudies.org/membership.

Sincerely,

Bryan A. Bardine, PhD
