The Editorial Board and Intellect seek expressions of interest for a new Editorial team (Sections 1 and 2) for Metal Music Studies.
Aims & Scope
This peer-reviewed Journal provides a focus for research and theory in metal music studies, a multidisciplinary (and interdisciplinary) subject field that engages with a range of parent disciplines. It provides a platform for high-quality research and theory and aims to be a unique resource for metal music studies.
Metal Music Studies is the intellectual hub for the International Society of Metal Music Studies.
Current Status
The Journal is published three times a year, and we are looking for a new editorial team to take over from Volume 11, Issue 1 (2025).
Editors
We are open to expressions of interest from dedicated individuals, co-editors, or cooperative teams. We want to fill the editorial positions for sections 1 (main articles) and 2 (reviews and short articles).
The Role
Editors are vital in driving the vision and scope of the Journal. We are looking for individuals or co-editors who can renew and take forward the ideals and commitments of the Journal. As Editor(s), you will be expected to:
• Provide overall vision and leadership of the Journal.
• Evaluate all manuscripts that are submitted to the Journal.
• Select articles that are suitable for the Journal for peer review.
• Encourage usage and subscriptions to the Journal.
• Consider peer reviewers’ advice to make a final decision about what gets published.
• Work with the Editorial Board to identify new writers or develop ideas for Special Issues.
