CfP for ‘Intersectional (in)equality in heavy metal subculture’ panel at Talking Bodies conference

From ISMMS member Holly Royle:

I am organising a two-hour panel around the topic area of intersectional (in)equality in heavy metal subculture for the 2023 Talking Bodies Conference (12th-16th June). The conference is organised by the Institute of Gender Studies at the University of Chester, UK.

I am looking for three speakers to deliver a 20-min (max) paper each on a subject relating to the chosen topic area and overall theme of the conference. Following the papers there will be a group discussion with the aim of gathering suggestions on how to improve the representation of different bodies in metal subculture.

Any questions feel free to get in touch with me (Holly Royle), and please email your abstract (max 500-words) by Friday the 20th January 2023: 1500443@chester.ac.uk
